What is joe dooley?

Joe Dooley is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach for the East Carolina Pirates men's basketball team. He was born on January 29, 1966, in West Orange, New Jersey.

Dooley played college basketball at George Washington University and later transferred to the University of Maine where he was a standout player. After graduating, he began his coaching career as an assistant coach at the University of South Carolina, and later worked as an assistant coach at East Carolina, New Mexico, and Wyoming.

In 2003, Dooley was hired as an assistant coach at the University of Kansas under head coach Bill Self. He spent 10 years at Kansas, helping lead the team to several conference championships and Final Four appearances.

In 2013, Dooley was hired as the head coach at Florida Gulf Coast University, where he had a successful tenure, leading the team to multiple postseason appearances. In 2018, he returned to East Carolina as the head coach of the Pirates.
